A special parliamentary committee for monitoring and parliamentary oversight of the implementation of the Republic of Moldova’s reintegration policy has been established. The proposal to create this special parliamentary committee was put forward by a group of MPs from the “Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova” parliamentary faction, TRIBUNA reports.
According to the draft decision, the special parliamentary committee will consist of 11 members. Six of them represent the “Party of Action and Solidarity” faction, while the factions of the “Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova,” “Alternativa,” the “Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova,” “Our Party,” and “Democracy at Home” have each delegated one representative to the committee. Ion Groza will serve as its chair, and Olga Cebotari will be the deputy chair of the special parliamentary committee for monitoring and parliamentary oversight of the implementation of the Republic of Moldova’s reintegration policy.
The special parliamentary committee will monitor and assess the current situation regarding reintegration policies, develop proposals and recommendations, and inform the Standing Bureau and, when necessary, the Parliament’s plenary at least once per semester about its activity and key developments related to reintegration policies in the Republic of Moldova. In its work, the committee will cooperate with international organizations specialized in mediation and dialogue, as well as experts from competent authorities, civil society, academia, and development partners.
The draft decision on establishing the special parliamentary committee for monitoring and parliamentary oversight of the implementation of the Republic of Moldova’s reintegration policy was approved by 87 MPs.
