On Thursday, August 27, the Republic of Moldova will mark the 35th anniversary of the proclamation of its Independence, TRIBUNA reports.

The Government invites all citizens to take part in the events in the Great National Assembly Square as the country celebrates together its freedom and independence, which unite its people.

The official program will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a wreath-laying ceremony at the “Grieving Mother” monument at the Eternity Memorial Complex. At 9:30 a.m., flowers will be laid at the monument to Prince Stephen the Great and Holy.

The events will continue in the Great National Assembly Square. At 4:30 p.m., all citizens are invited to attend the military parade, which will involve more than 2,000 military personnel and representatives of participating institutions. More than 100 units of military and special equipment operated by the National Army and the Ministry of Internal Affairs will also be presented.

The Independence Day concert will begin at 6:00 p.m. and will feature numerous Moldovan artists.

The Republic of Moldova proclaimed its independence on August 27, 1991, when Parliament adopted the Declaration of Independence.
