Business agents are invited to participate in the “Moldova–China Economic Forum”, seventh edition, which will take place on December 15 in Chișinău. The event is organized by the Moldova–China Chamber of Commerce and Industry and serves as the main platform for dialogue between Moldovan businesses and Chinese partners, dedicated to economic cooperation and trade opportunities between the two states.
Chamber President Boris Foca stated at a press conference that the forum has become a tradition, held annually to mark the institution’s founding date. He noted that the program will include three panels covering the main areas of interest for participants. “This is the seventh edition of the Moldova–China Economic Forum. We scheduled the event for December 15, starting at 10:00, at Summit Events,” announced Boris Foca.
- The first panel will feature representatives of state institutions, presenting assessments of this year’s economic developments, including major sectors of the economy.
- The second part will highlight the experiences of Moldovan companies importing from China. According to Boris Foca, it is important for new business agents to understand the correct way of working with Chinese suppliers and to learn practical details from the country’s largest importers.
- The final panel will be dedicated to Chinese companies interested in the Moldovan market. Four companies are expected to attend, from sectors such as green energy, energy storage, and electric mobility.
An important element of the forum will be the presentation of economic missions planned for the first half of next year. The Chamber aims to reduce intermediaries in the procurement process, ensuring that Moldovan businesses can work directly with major Chinese producers.
Another topic announced for the forum is the analysis of bilateral trade. According to presented data, the total volume of trade between Moldova and China reached $1.257 billion in 2024, up by more than 22% compared to the previous year. Moldovan exports remain low, at $8.46 million.
The forum will also discuss the interest of a potential Chinese investor considering opening a factory for the production of car rims. “We rely on the support of the authorities, the Investment Agency, and the Ministry of Economy to hold quality discussions on this subject, to break the ice, and to show that Moldova is ready to welcome investors,” said Boris Foca.
The Moldova–China Forum will bring together public institutions, local companies, potential investors, and experts, being one of the most important platforms for developing economic relations between the two countries.
