Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi held a meeting with the Vice-President of the European Parliament, Victor Negrescu, who was on a working visit to Chișinău. During the meeting, the two officials discussed the progress made by the Republic of Moldova in the EU accession process and the actions to be taken to advance further.
Minister Mihai Popșoi expressed gratitude for the European Parliament’s support for Moldova, including the adoption of the resolution on September 10, 2025, aimed at strengthening the country’s resilience against hybrid threats and external interference.
For his part, European Parliament Vice-President Victor Negrescu praised the democratic and transparent conduct of the September parliamentary elections, as well as the steady pace of reforms implemented by the authorities in Chișinău. He reaffirmed the European Parliament’s support for opening accession negotiations and integrating Moldova into the European Union.
“The Republic of Moldova is firmly committed to European integration. The results of the September elections confirm the strong support of citizens for this path. We will continue to advance reforms and work alongside our European partners to open accession negotiations. We continue to rely on close cooperation with the European Parliament,” stated Mihai Popșoi.
