Citizen safety will increase, and authorities will act more effectively to prevent and combat crime. The Government of the Republic of Moldova has approved the National Program for the Prevention and Combating of Crime for 2026–2030.
The program aims to reduce crime and strengthen citizen protection through preventive measures, institutional cooperation, and modernization of intervention tools.
It targets six priority areas:
- cybercrime,
- organized crime,
- offenses related to sexual integrity and property,
- crimes against life and health,
- economic and financial crime.
Additionally, mechanisms to protect children and women from abuse will be reinforced, and cooperation with the European Union will be expanded to combat cross-border crime. Through this initiative, the Government seeks to significantly reduce the number of offenses and increase public trust in state institutions.
