Igor Dodon, leader of the Socialist Party, stated that the ruling PAS government is generating conditions for repeat or early parliamentary elections by excluding one of the elected parties, TRIBUNA reports.
He claimed that PAS achieved results beyond sociological forecasts through what he described as a “captured electoral process,” citing alleged abuses such as suppression of free media, voter intimidation, restricted access to polling stations, exclusion of viable parties, political pressure on institutions, censorship, diaspora propaganda, and foreign influence.
Dodon also accused PAS of operating as a hidden electoral bloc, referencing the post-election separation of DA Platform MPs. He argued that the new parliamentary majority lacks legitimacy and legality, warning that attempts to annul the results of certain parties would be “a fatal blow to the rule of law and democratic principles.”
Under these circumstances, Dodon concluded that repeat or early elections are becoming an inevitable scenario, driven by what he called the government’s “abuses and unconstitutional deviations.”
