Romanian Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan extended heartfelt congratulations to the citizens of the Republic of Moldova for their strong turnout in the September 28 parliamentary elections and for voting in favor of a European path, TRIBUNA reports.
“I especially want to commend the Moldovan authorities for the exemplary way they organized the vote and for how they handled the complex pressures aimed at distorting the people’s will.
In the end, as in any genuine democracy, it was the people’s vote that made the difference,” the official stated.
Ilie Bolojan further emphasized that the Republic of Moldova belongs in the great European family: “Personally, and on behalf of the Romanian Government, we will stand by the Republic of Moldova on this journey. Congratulations, Moldova!”.
