Speaker of Parliament Igor Grosu met with Romanian Prime Minister Luca-Alexandru Niculescu, who is in Chișinău on his first official visit since the new government took office in Bucharest. The discussions focused on the development agenda of the Republic of Moldova and Romania, as well as projects aimed at improving the lives of citizens on both banks of the Prut River.
“Our immediate priorities are the commissioning of the Vulcănești–Chișinău power transmission line and advancing construction work on the Ungheni–Ungheni Bridge. We want energy to no longer be used as a political weapon, and to achieve this, we must strengthen our energy independence. At the same time, we need more bridges across the Prut and fewer borders between us,” the Speaker of Parliament emphasized.
Igor Grosu also noted that the Republic of Moldova and Romania share a common responsibility to build stronger ties, create more opportunities, and ensure a better future for citizens on both banks of the Prut River.
“Bucharest can always count on Chișinău, just as we know we can rely on Romania,” the Speaker of Parliament stressed during his meeting with the Romanian Prime Minister.
