The Superior Council of Prosecutors announced that the stage of submitting files for the competition for the position of Prosecutor General ended yesterday, July 21, 2025, with two files of the following candidates being registered:

1. Alexandru Machidon (Interim Prosecutor General);

2. Victor Furtuna (Interim Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases).

Next, the Superior Council of Prosecutors will submit the necessary steps to the relevant institutions responsible for integrity control and, within 20 working days from the deadline for submitting the files, will examine, in a closed session, their content, adopting a reasoned decision on the eligibility of the candidates.
