On 23 December 2025, during the meeting of the Superior Council of Prosecutors, the election exercise for the President of the prosecutors’ self-governing body was held. Following the secret ballot, the Superior Council of Prosecutors unanimously re-elected Dumitru Obadă as President, a position he had previously held, TRIBUNA reports.

The election procedure was carried out in accordance with the Regulation on the organization and functioning of the Superior Council of Prosecutors. The meeting dedicated to the election was chaired by Ms. Rodica Ciobanu, as the eldest member of the Council.

“The re-election of the Council’s President confirms the members’ choice for continuity of institutional objectives and for fulfilling the mission of the Superior Council of Prosecutors,” the Council stated.
