Today, in the Republic of Moldova, the republican constitutional referendum and the elections for the position of President of the Republic of Moldova are taking place, informs TRIBUNA.
Voters are expected at the 2,219 polling stations, of which 1,988 are open on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, including 30 stations for residents on the left side of the Dniester. And 231 polling stations opened outside the country in 37 countries for diaspora voters, 3 of which are dedicated to postal voting.
All polling stations in the country started their activity at 7:00, including the 30 stations organized for voters on the left of the Dniester, where the voting process started without incident.
2,714,239 voters are included in the Basic Electoral Lists.
Regarding the polling stations established abroad, the voting process started at 07:00 local time without any reported problems. Polling stations abroad will be open until 21:00 (local time in each state).
Thus, the voting process is underway in Japan, where traditionally the first voter also voted. Voting is also already underway in 36 polling stations in China, India, Azerbaijan, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar, the State of Israel, the Russian Federation, Romania, Turkey, Bulgaria, Greece, Cyprus, Ukraine, Belarus, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
Over 7.3 million ballots were printed for these elections, of which 1.7 million were distributed to polling stations outside the country. As a novelty, ballots were also printed in national minority languages, including Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Gagauz, Russian and Romanian.
