Prime Minister Dorin Recean had a meeting with Donald Tusk, his Polish counterpart, on a working visit to our country for the first time in his capacity as Prime Minister of Poland. The two officials discussed the current level of Moldovan-Polish relations, the exploitation of bilateral commercial-economic potential, regional development projects and the modernization of the Republic of Moldova, informs TRIBUNA.
During the press conference, Prime Minister Dorin Recean appreciated Poland’s firm support for our country’s European path, noting that the efforts of the Chisinau authorities are recognized by the Joint Declaration, adopted by the two sides.
“Supporting Poland is essential on our way to the great European family, and the joint statement encourages us to continue resolutely on our way to the European Union – a community of peace and prosperity. We will not lose the opportunity we have now and we will achieve our national goal, which is to prepare the Republic of Moldova for EU accession by 2030. Poland is an example to follow in this regard, and together we will succeed in building a European future here , at our home”, said the head of the Executive from Chisinau.
For his part, Prime Minister Donald Tusk emphasized that the Republic of Moldova and Poland have several common objectives, priorities and challenges, which can be overcome including through close cooperation and the dynamism of relations in several fields.
“The Republic of Moldova is a small but proud country, which has the right to tell Europe that the expansion and close cooperation with EU member countries is in everyone’s interest,” said Donald Tusk.
