Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Alexandru Munteanu, met today with the Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, on the sidelines of the Ukraine Recovery Conference – URC2026 held in Gdańsk. The two officials discussed Moldova’s recent progress on its path toward European integration and the valuable support provided by Poland throughout this process, TRIBUNA reports.
The two prime ministers highlighted the importance of the recent opening of official negotiations on Cluster 1 – Fundamental Values, which marks a new stage in Moldova’s EU accession process. Prime Minister Munteanu expressed gratitude for Poland’s consistent support, both politically and through practical assistance offered at key moments.
“Our objective is to maintain the pace of reforms and advance as quickly as possible in the negotiation process, based on merit and the results achieved,” Munteanu stated, noting Moldova’s interest in continuing to benefit from Poland’s experience in accession, institutional modernization, and preparation for integration into the EU Single Market.
The officials also discussed continued cooperation in the fields of security and defence, opportunities to expand economic relations, and the potential for increased Polish investment in Moldova. Both prime ministers underlined that a stronger and more resilient Moldova contributes directly to the stability and security of the entire region.
