The Civic Initiative for a Clean Parliament 2019 analyzed the deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova of the 10th legislature in terms of integrity deficiencies, TRIBUNA informs.
The authors, the Association for Democratic Participation “ADEPT”, the Independent Press Association (API), the Center for Analysis and Prevention of Corruption (CAPC) and the Center of Journalistic Investigation (CIJM) analyzed the profiles of the candidates according to four criteria: integrity in the political activity, wealth management, integrity in the exercise of public or party functions and criminal record.
Thus, according to criterion I: indicators are limited to cases of political or doctrinal migration, cases of deviation from the mandate of voters, change of political parties, etc. Twelve candidates out of 101 exchanged parties with different doctrines or vowed on their own responsibility that they would not do it, 13 deputies either changed the political party but did not publicly swear they would not leave. Among these candidates is one who has been on seven political platforms. The other deputies have their first parliamentary experience.
Under Criterion II: Several candidates who did not declare all assets and income were found. 56 members met the criterion, 30 correspond in part, and 15 did not correspond at all.
Under Criterion III: Every fourth deputy has severe problems in integrity in public or party function, ¼ have some problems, and 48 of them are people who meet this criterion.
Under criterion IV: Only 3 Members do not meet the criterion.
