MOLDAGROTECH & FARMER 2026 Opens: Moldexpo Becomes the “Territory of a Rich Harvest”

More than 400 participants and over 1,000 units of agricultural machinery, equipment, and technology are bringing together farmers, producers, and companies contributing to the modernization of the Republic of Moldova’s agricultural sector from October 15 to 18.

Today, the MOLDAGROTECH & FARMER 2026 exhibitions officially opened at the Moldexpo International Exhibition Centre under the theme “Territory of a Rich Harvest.” Over four days, visitors can explore approximately 10,000 square meters of technologies, equipment, and solutions designed to make agriculture more efficient and competitive, TRIBUNA reports.

The opening ceremony took place in an unconventional, “no-tie” format as a gesture of solidarity with farmers. At the exhibition entrance, a vintage tractor and a next-generation model symbolically illustrated the evolution of agriculture, from tradition to the technologies of the future.

Technology and People at the Heart of This Year’s Exhibition

Zinaida Popa, Director of the Moldexpo International Exhibition Centre, emphasized that agricultural development requires an integrated approach in which farmers’ experience, investment, and innovation complement one another. She also highlighted the importance of adapting the sector to new economic and technological realities.

“Because beyond machinery, equipment, and modern solutions, agriculture is, first and foremost, about people. People who understand the value of the land and recognize that the future of this sector depends on our ability to evolve together.

“I would like to thank the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, the National Farmers Federation of Moldova, the exhibitors, our partners, and the entire Moldexpo team for their contribution to organizing this edition,” Zinaida Popa stated.

Competitiveness Through Technology and Efficient Resource Use

Vasile Șarban, State Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, attended the opening ceremony and spoke about the role of technological modernization in reducing production costs and helping farmers remain competitive in regional and international markets.

“This is about competitiveness, efficiency, and the ability to generate revenue for businesses. All of this comes down to technology, more productive crop varieties, reduced labor requirements, lower fuel consumption, and less waste of plant protection products and fertilizers.

“By reducing costs, we can remain competitive in the market. Agricultural producers need to understand what is happening and the direction in which we are heading. The state must provide support and a helping hand to farmers, including through its subordinate agencies, so that they can equip their businesses with modern technologies,” Vasile Șarban noted.

A Dialogue Between Farmers, Consumers, Authorities, and Businesses

Sergiu Veșca, Executive Director of the National Farmers Federation of Moldova, highlighted the responsibility involved in managing agricultural land and the need for cooperation throughout the entire value chain.

“Bountiful harvests depend on several factors. First, there is the land, which we must take care of because it does not belong to us alone, but also to future generations. Then there are the people who decide what to do with that land, the technology and machinery, and state policies that set the direction.

“Most importantly, there are the consumers, who cast their votes with the money they have earned through hard work. That is why we are here: to foster constructive dialogue between producers, consumers, and policymakers who create the right conditions,” Sergiu Veșca said.

Representing the business community, Roman Braguța, a representative of DiazTech and DiazChim, reaffirmed the private sector’s commitment to supporting farm modernization and working directly with agricultural producers.

“This is a special event where we join forces to improve communication and send farmers a clearer message: we stand alongside them as agriculture becomes more competitive, dynamic, and exciting.

“For years, we have invested heavily in our team and put a great deal of heart into the development of agriculture in the Republic of Moldova,” Roman Braguța said.

Four Days Dedicated to Agriculture and Partnerships

MOLDAGROTECH & FARMER 2026 brings together agricultural producers, suppliers of machinery and equipment, specialists, and representatives of public institutions, providing a platform for showcasing innovations, exchanging expertise, and establishing new partnerships.

The program also features a special event called “The Great Cheese” (Marea Brânză), scheduled for Friday, October 16, at 12:00 p.m. The event will feature the weighing of an exceptionally large cheese in an attempt to establish a national record, followed by a demonstration of lifting it with a drone.

The public is invited to visit the exhibitions from October 15 to 18, 2026, at Moldexpo, 1 Ghioceilor Street, Chișinău, and discover the “Territory of a Rich Harvest.”
