“Moldexpo” S.A. is entering a new stage of development, transforming into Moldova Expo Park. Zinaida Popa, the general director of the exhibition center, made the announcement during Moldova Business Week 2026.
According to her, exhibitions have not disappeared, but the industry is changing. “In 2024, approximately 318 million people attended exhibitions worldwide. But the recovery of the industry does not mean a return to the old model. Moldexpo is entering this transformation from a position of growth. In 2025, we had 294,000 visitors—more than twice as many as in 2024. The 2026 figures are still preliminary, but they confirm that the platform remains relevant for companies and the public.”
“We aim to transform Moldexpo into a more open, connected and active space throughout the year. A space that means more than exhibitions and creates new opportunities for business, culture, local industries and modern experiences.
Our vision is based on four key directions:
-
The city — a more open and connected space;
-
Culture — a place where we showcase not only products, but also Moldova: wine, agriculture, local producers, design and our stories;
-
Business — active spaces between major exhibitions for conferences, B2B meetings and activations;
-
Experience — flexible infrastructure and new digital and immersive formats.
These are directions we are exploring, not projects that we are declaring approved today,” she explained during the presentation.
Zinaida Popa also said that the transformation has already begun through concrete initiatives aimed at developing the site, including the development of areas for sports and gastronomy through tenders, as well as the sakura avenue project, together with an auxiliary entrance area from Valea Morilor Park.
“The transformation of Moldexpo into Moldova Expo Park is being built now, together with investors, companies, industries and partners who can bring ideas, capital and projects.
We have a lot of work ahead, but also a lot of potential. I believe in Moldexpo’s future and I am convinced that, with the right partnerships, we can turn this vision into a project we can be proud of,” the Moldexpo director emphasized.
