Petr Vlah, the candidate of the New Historical Choice Party for the position of Governor (Bashkan) of Gagauzia, has appealed to all ambassadors accredited in the Republic of Moldova after being detained at Chișinău International Airport. The politician said he did not know why he was being prevented from leaving the country.

Vlah stated that he was scheduled to travel to Las Vegas to participate in the World Wrestling Championships and called on the ambassadors to intervene in the situation.

“I am addressing all ambassadors accredited in the Republic of Moldova.

I am a candidate for the position of Governor of Gagauzia representing the New Historical Choice Party, and I was illegally detained at Chișinău International Airport. I was subjected to a search, during which nothing was found. However, for unclear reasons, the authorities are refusing to allow me to leave the country.

I am scheduled to travel to Las Vegas to participate in the World Wrestling Championships.

I consider this to be discrimination against me, both as a candidate for the position of Governor of Gagauzia and on ethnic grounds, because I am Gagauz.

I urge you to intervene!” Petr Vlah stated.
