Information has emerged in the public space suggesting that S.A. “Apă-Canal Chișinău” would increase the tariffs for thermal energy. In this context, Chișinău City Hall clarified that “95% of the heating service in Chișinău municipality is provided by S.A. Termoelectrica, an institution subordinated to the Government. S.A. ‘Apă-Canal Chișinău’ supplies thermal energy in Chișinău municipality and has coverage of less than 5%,” reports TRIBUNA.

“According to the law, the institution is required to submit the relevant documents to ANRE every year so that the payment methodology can be calculated based on all the information and purchases made by the company.

The institution that makes the final decision is the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE), and certainly not S.A. ‘Apă-Canal Chișinău’.

It seems that someone is intentionally trying to create the impression that the increase in heating costs in the capital is being implemented by City Hall, which is false,” the institution stated.
