Doina Gherman Holds “Very Good Meetings” with New Ambassadors of Montenegro and Cuba

Deputy Speaker of Parliament Doina Gherman held “very good meetings” today with the ambassadors of Montenegro and Cuba, who presented their credentials in Chișinău yesterday, reports TRIBUNA.

“Montenegro is currently the most advanced candidate country in the European Union accession process, and Moldova can learn from its experience. With Ambassador Danilo Brajović, we discussed closer cooperation between the parliaments of our countries and the exchange of experience in the European integration process.

Montenegro aims to conclude its accession negotiations in 2026 and become an EU member state in 2028. The Republic of Moldova also has an ambitious agenda — to open the remaining four negotiating clusters this year and move toward signing the Accession Treaty in 2028.

We also discussed economic relations. We want to see more Moldovan products on the Montenegrin market — wine, fruit, nuts, and honey.

With Cuba’s Ambassador Alexander Valentín Rodríguez Salazar, we discussed bilateral relations and the continuation of dialogue between our countries. Next year, the Republic of Moldova and Cuba will mark 35 years of diplomatic relations. This is a good opportunity to intensify our parliamentary cooperation.

I wish them success and every achievement in their new mandates,” the MP said.
