Republic of Moldova’s Electricity Needs 100% Covered Commercially Today

For Saturday, August 15, 2026, the Republic of Moldova’s electricity needs are 100% covered through commercial purchases. Energocom has secured the necessary volumes to meet consumption needs, TRIBUNA reports.

In total, the company purchased 9,392 MWh of electricity for today. Of this volume, 28.56% comes from local and eligible renewable sources, 68.08% from bilateral import contracts, 1.95% from Romania’s Day-Ahead Market through OPCOM and the Romanian Commodities Exchange (BRM), and 1.42% from combined heat and power plants (CHPs).

Today’s electricity needs are fully covered, but the regional situation remains difficult. Electricity available on external markets continues to be expensive, particularly during peak hours.
