Ana Revenco has announced her departure from the position of head of the Center for Strategic Communication and Countering Disinformation, TRIBUNA reports.

“In 2023, I accepted the mandate to build from scratch the Center for Strategic Communication and Countering Disinformation, at a time when the Republic of Moldova was facing increasingly intense information aggression. At first glance, it seemed like an impossible mission: we did not have a model that we could adopt, and the institution had to be created and made operational in a crisis context.

Today, as I conclude my mandate as director, the Center is a functioning institution, with a professional team and clear working mechanisms, while the model developed in Chișinău is being analyzed in Brussels and in other countries as an experience from which solutions can be adopted and adapted,” she wrote on Facebook.

The official said that the Center’s activity was built on a flexible and proactive approach.

“Since the mission was to protect the strategic interests of the State, the Center was created as part of a joint effort involving public institutions, civil society, academia, and independent media. A society becomes more resilient when these forces work together to defend democracy, peace, and national unity,” she added.

Ana Revenco noted that modern hybrid wars do not come to an end; rather, they constantly change their forms, tools, and methods.

“Our country will continue to face new threats and challenges that are difficult to anticipate. In this context, the Center’s team will need great adaptability in carrying out the complex mission it will continue to have from now on. I wish them success and the ability to find appropriate responses to emerging threats.

I will remain involved in projects that contribute to strengthening democracy and the European path of the Republic of Moldova,” concluded the former minister.
