Irina Vlah, leader of the Republican Party “Inima Moldovei,” noted that “natural gas and district heating tariffs have once again been increased, specifically on the day marking one year since the parliamentary elections that gave the PAS its second term in government. Thus, PAS is showing its true attitude toward citizens living in Moldova – you voted for us, and we are making a mockery of you!” TRIBUNA reports.

According to her, the authorities did not even try to look for alternative solutions to ensure, at the very least, that the latest tariff increase would not be so substantial.

“All those in power did was acknowledge that ‘this is the situation externally’ and urge us ‘to pray for a mild winter.’ And this while prices continue to rise and poverty deepens. The logical question arises: If the Government can do nothing to protect citizens, why do we need such a Government?

Mr. Tofan, I believe the time has come for you to seriously consider whether it still makes sense for you to remain Prime Minister or whether you should leave office gracefully, while this is still possible!” Irina Vlah also said.
