Tiraspol is urging Chisinau to hold talks as soon as possible

To avoid humanitarian, environmental and economic crises, Tiraspol is urging Chisinau to hold talks as soon as possible to discuss the possibility of restoring the volume of water discharged into the Dniester River to 100 cubic metres.

Today, the so-called foreign ministry in Tiraspol sent a letter to the Republic of Moldova’s political representative, Valeriu Chiveri, as well as to the participants in the “5+2” format.

The document states that the Dniester Commission’s decision to reduce the water discharge to 85 cubic metres was allegedly taken without considering Tiraspol’s position and while disregarding the work of expert groups on environmental issues.
