Prime Minister Vasile Tofan and Energy Minister Dorin Junghietu met with Ukraine’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Denys Shmyhal. The officials primarily discussed issues related to managing energy and hydrological crises, TRIBUNA reports.
One of the main topics was the hydrological situation on the Dniester River. Although conditions in the river’s upper reaches remain difficult, the Ukrainian side agreed to increase the volume of water released by the Novodnestrovsk Hydropower Complex by approximately 20% compared with the previous period.
The energy crisis was another key focus of the meeting. The head of government discussed cooperation in the natural gas and electricity sectors with his Ukrainian counterpart.
The talks will continue during Prime Minister Vasile Tofan’s visit to Kyiv, scheduled for the end of this month.
