On Sovereignty Day, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu stated that “36 years ago, the Republic of Moldova took a decisive step toward independence by adopting the Declaration of Sovereignty. It was the moment when we affirmed that the country’s future must be decided here, by its own citizens,” TRIBUNA reports.
He underlined that today, sovereignty carries the same meaning: the right to choose the country’s direction, to build strong institutions, to uphold the rule of law, and for every citizen to contribute to Moldova’s development.
“The European path is the expression of this sovereign choice and of our aspiration to build a stronger, safer, and more prosperous country,” the Prime Minister said.
