The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry announced that, as of today, no embargo has been imposed on wines from the Republic of Moldova on the Ukrainian market, TRIBUNA reports.
“In the public space, discussions have emerged regarding a possible decision and certain regulatory options that are currently at the consultation stage between institutions. We emphasize that these technical discussions do not constitute an actual ban on exports and do not amount to the imposition of sanctions or commercial restrictions.
The Ministry is in constant contact with the competent authorities of Ukraine, and institutional dialogue continues in a constructive manner, with the aim of preventing any measures that could affect domestic producers or bilateral trade relations.
At the same time, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry specifies that it has not received any official notification from the Ukrainian authorities regarding potential restrictions on the import of wine or other wine products from the Republic of Moldova,” the institution stated.
The Ministry also noted that the national wine sector operates in accordance with international trade standards and commitments. Moldovan wines are present in more than 70 countries, are consistently awarded at international competitions, and are produced in line with European standards of quality, safety, and traceability.
“We call for responsible communication and for avoiding alarmist interpretations that could unnecessarily generate tensions in the public space. Our priority remains maintaining a constructive and calm environment, so that the situation is not artificially escalated,” the institution concluded.
