During his visit to Nisporeni, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu met with local elected officials and representatives of the district’s deconcentrated public services. The discussions focused on the current needs of residents and the benefits of projects already implemented in the communities.
To date, the Government has invested more than 173 million lei in the district, targeting the modernization of local infrastructure, expansion of water and sewage networks, public lighting, road rehabilitation, and other projects aimed at improving living conditions. Significant investments have also been made in education, culture, and healthcare, including with support from external partners.
The Prime Minister emphasized that “people’s basic needs must be a normality, not a privilege. We know there is still much to be done — we need additional investments in the medical system and quality roads, stronger human resources in public institutions, and increased administrative capacity at the local level.”
He noted that the ongoing local public administration reform aims to create stronger municipalities capable of accelerating local development. Several villages in the district are already engaged in the voluntary amalgamation process, and the mayors attending the meeting expressed support for the reform and for active cooperation with central authorities.
Current priorities for intervention in the district’s localities include:
-
- expanding water and sewage systems
- developing waste management systems
- rehabilitating local roads
- gasifying three localities
- drafting general urban plans
- completing the delimitation process.
