Parliament will hold hearings dedicated to discussing the policies and measures undertaken by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) in the field of preventing and combating drug use and illegal drug trafficking, TRIBUNA reports.
The parliamentary hearings will take place on Thursday, 26 February, according to a decision of the Parliament’s Standing Bureau.
We remind that on 12 February 2026, PSRM MP Vladimir Odnostalco proposed during a plenary session that Parliament hold hearings with Minister of Internal Affairs Daniela Misaíl‑Nikitin on the issue of combating drug addiction.
The MP noted that Parliament had already held some hearings on this topic. He added: “After four months of this ‘fight,’ we have seen numerous police reports. I believe Parliament must know what results the police have achieved in this area, as well as what prevention and enforcement measures are being taken by the MIA.”
Parliamentary factions supported the PSRM proposal.
