Belgium firmly supports the European aspirations of the Republic of Moldova and the reforms launched by the authorities in Chișinău to improve the quality of life for citizens. Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu discussed with Belgium’s Ambassador, Evert Marechal, bilateral cooperation opportunities aimed at advancing Moldova’s European agenda.

The Head of Government reiterated Moldova’s determination to build a safe, peaceful, and European future, noting that economic development remains one of the key priorities for the coming period. In this regard, the authorities continue to encourage business activity and reduce bureaucracy in order to create a favorable environment for all those who choose to invest in the country.

The two sides discussed business opportunities available to Belgian investors. At present, 117 companies with Belgian capital operate in the Republic of Moldova, and the country aims to further increase this number.

Officials also discussed cooperation in the energy sector and the coordination of efforts to successfully implement the Growth Plan for Moldova, supported by the European Union.
