Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu took part in an event dedicated to the memory of the six million victims of the Holocaust. The head of the Executive emphasized that the Holocaust is not merely a chapter in history, but an open wound of humanity and a reminder that evil must never be tolerated.
“We are once again living in a world marked by wars, propaganda, disinformation, and violence. We already know where hatred leads. We know what happens when people are dehumanized, when minorities become targets, when silence turns into complicity. We have no right to be indifferent or to justify evil,” stated Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu.
The Prime Minister also highlighted society’s responsibility to learn from history, to protect human dignity, and to defend rights: “We bear an immense responsibility toward our children and grandchildren. Today, we bow our heads in memory of the victims of the Holocaust, but at the same time, we raise our voices for the future.”
The International Holocaust Remembrance Day is observed annually on 27 January.
