The Government has announced the start of broad consultations on the reform of local public administration, TRIBUNA reports.
“The goal of the reform is to build strong town halls, develop local communities, and provide better services closer to citizens.
Only after consultations will we decide what the final shape of the reform will be. We will discuss with mayors, experts, district and local authorities, civil society, and citizens,” stated the Government’s Secretary General, Alexei Buzu.
He also explained what people stand to gain from the reform:
• more funding for projects and services, less bureaucracy;
• villages remain, town halls merge, and local service centers will be created;
• documents obtained more easily, through a one‑stop shop.
“I urge you to carry out this important reform together. I invite you to dialogue. Proposals may also be sent to [email protected],” Alexei Buzu concluded.
