A total of 293 localities in the Republic of Moldova will benefit from the development, updating, or modernization of their general urban plans. The related local development projects were included today by the Government in the Single Programming Document for 2025–2027, TRIBUNA reports.
The development of general urban plans will support the sustainable growth of localities, ensure better spatial organization of social infrastructure, and improve public access to essential services.
In addition, having a general urban plan has become a requirement for accessing state budget funding for other infrastructure projects, such as water supply and sewerage systems, public street lighting networks, local roads, public buildings, parks, and sports areas.
The total value of the 293 included projects exceeds 210 million lei, of which approximately 208 million lei come from the National Fund for Regional and Local Development, while over 2.3 million lei represent contributions from local authorities.
The Single Programming Document supports the implementation of the National Regional Development Strategy for 2022–2028. It includes priority regional and local development projects selected through competitions organized by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development. The current document covers the period 2025–2027 and lists 627 regional development projects, 1,478 local development projects, and 32 projects for capital repairs or rehabilitation of socio‑cultural buildings.
