Marcel Spatari, Chair of the Committee for European Integration, is taking part in the Meeting of the Chairpersons of the Conference of Parliamentary Committees for Union Affairs (COSAC). The event is taking place on 11–12 January in the Republic of Cyprus, TRIBUNA reports.

The agenda of the event includes two discussion sessions. The first focuses on the priorities of Cyprus’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, structured around three pillars: “A strategically autonomous and resilient European Union”; “An outward‑looking European Union”; and “A socially strong and cohesive European Union.”

During the second session, participants will discuss Europe’s geopolitical challenges. The debates will address the tools needed to respond effectively to geopolitical pressures, as well as the policy adjustments required in this context.

COSAC is a forum established in 1989 to promote cooperation, information exchange and best practices between the national parliaments of EU member states and the European Parliament. Its objective is to facilitate dialogue between national MPs and Members of the European Parliament on the practical aspects of parliamentary scrutiny of EU affairs.
