Energocom carried out its first transaction on the Intraday Market (IDM) yesterday, symbolically purchasing 1 MWh of electricity on the platform operated by Moldova’s Electricity Market Operator (OPEM), TRIBUNA reports.
The transaction took place one day after the official launch of the IDM and confirms both the functionality of the new market segment and its role in improving electricity procurement mechanisms.
“This operation marks an important step in the development of the electricity market in the Republic of Moldova. The Intraday Market contributes to transparent price formation based on supply and demand, as well as to strengthening a competitive and sustainable energy system aligned with European standards,” Energocom stated in its press release.
