The National Anticorruption Center (NAC) has announced the launch of Anticorruption Week and the organization of several events focused on prevention and anticorruption education. The activities are dedicated to the International Anticorruption Day, marked on December 9, and aim to raise awareness and responsibility in society, especially among young people, regarding the risks and impact of corruption, TRIBUNA reports.
This year’s Anticorruption Week begins on Tuesday, December 9, with a meeting with the Center’s development partners. Later that day, NAC officers will hold an information session entitled “Integrity for Good Governance” for Members of Parliament and Secretariat staff. The event will take place in the plenary hall of the Legislature.
On the occasion of International Anticorruption Day, two NAC officers, accompanied by a group of anticorruption volunteers, will participate in a thematic training at the International Anticorruption Academy (IACA) in Austria. On December 10, NAC volunteers will organize an information session in Vienna within the Anticorruption Conference held under the auspices of the OSCE.
An Open Doors Day will also be organized this year for pupils and students. Visitors will meet with NAC officers, attend information sessions, and take a tour of the institution.
The week will conclude with the organization of an Anticorruption Café for young people. Through this initiative, the NAC seeks to emphasize that fighting corruption requires joint effort, and its success depends on each of us.
Every year, the Republic of Moldova celebrates International Anticorruption Day with events designed to highlight both the progress and the challenges faced by public authorities in combating and preventing corruption.
