“At this moment, a reintegration strategy/plan is being actively developed. Still, some elements are sensitive and need careful handling. Certain processes require time, and premature disclosure of these details could affect the final outcome. At the right time, the results will be presented to the public,” stated Valeriu Chiveri, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration.
The official noted that the “5+2” format is no longer valid: “It is very difficult to imagine that two key actors in the settlement process, who are currently engaged in a direct armed conflict, could continue to be part of the settlement of another conflict. In the foreseeable future, this format cannot be considered capable of sustaining the negotiation process.”
“In the context of a possible peace negotiation package between Ukraine and the Russian Federation:
We do not intend to be part of a conflict settlement package, but rather of a regional security package. For us, this would mean exclusively the withdrawal of Russian military forces from the region.
As for the settlement of the conflict in the Republic of Moldova itself, we will commit to facilitating a negotiation process that includes both Tiraspol and our international partners — first and foremost the European Union, the United States, and the OSCE,” added the Deputy Prime Minister.
