Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu held a meeting with the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Moldova, Dr. Turki bin Abdullah Zaid Al-Mahmoud. The officials discussed expanding bilateral partnership in various areas, with a focus on economic cooperation, TRIBUNA reports.

Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu invited Qatari businesspeople to invest in the Republic of Moldova in sectors such as renewable energy, information technology, agribusiness, and infrastructure. “The Republic of Moldova is in the process of joining the EU, and now is a favorable moment to invest,” emphasized the Prime Minister.

Regarding social contacts, the idea of launching a direct Chișinău–Doha flight was supported. Since 2022, a visa-free regime has been in place between the Republic of Moldova and the State of Qatar, along with a system for converting driving licenses.
