The European agenda of the Republic of Moldova, the implementation of the Growth Plan, Sweden’s support in attracting investments, and the realization of key reforms for our country were discussed at the meeting between Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu and Sweden’s Ambassador Petra Larke, TRIBUNA reports.

The Prime Minister emphasized that Sweden is one of Moldova’s most important development partners, with numerous projects implemented by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency.

The head of government also highlighted Sweden’s support in overcoming challenges in the energy sector — in 2024, Sweden allocated €8.7 million to the Energy Vulnerability Reduction Fund. This allowed the government to assist the most vulnerable households by partially covering their energy bills. Support in the energy sector continues this year — 57 apartment blocks in Chișinău will be thermally insulated and become energy efficient thanks to a €15 million grant provided by Sweden.

Furthermore, in October, the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization of the Republic of Moldova and Sweden’s National Board of Trade signed a Memorandum to strengthen cooperation in the process of European integration. Based on this document, the two institutions will collaborate to support Moldovan products and services in accessing the EU single market, which means clearer procedures and less bureaucracy for entrepreneurs exporting to Europe.

The officials also discussed deepening cooperation in green energy, economy, security, digitalization, and strengthening resilience against hybrid threats.
