On the National Day of Agricultural and Processing Industry Workers, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu congratulated farmers who, through their work, ensure the development of a strategic sector for the Republic of Moldova and promote local products internationally, TRIBUNA reports.
The Head of Government noted that in recent years the agricultural sector has been prioritized, with emphasis on exports, modern technologies, and subsidies for creating high added value. In this regard, about 8 billion lei have been allocated, and the National Fund for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Environment has increased by 70% from 2021 to 2025. Moreover, more than 8,000 farmers have received financial support, nearly one-third of whom are young and women farmers, and more than half are micro-farms.
“We are making these investments and continuing our path of integration into the European Union. For the agricultural sector this means benefits and funds, but it also means European legislation in the fields of animal husbandry, crop production, phytosanitary standards, organic production, and food safety — it means raising standards everywhere,” said Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu.
The National Day of Agricultural and Processing Industry Workers is celebrated annually on the fourth Sunday of November.
