The bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, and the importance of continuing it in key sectors, was discussed during a meeting between Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu and Ukraine’s Ambassador to Moldova, Rohovei Paun, TRIBUNA reports.
The officials expressed openness to strengthening political dialogue in the context of their shared goal of European integration, as well as supporting the development of democratic processes. The conversation also touched on cooperation in the energy, humanitarian, economic, and infrastructure sectors.
During the talks, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu reaffirmed his support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the neighboring state, condemning Russia’s aggression against Ukraine: “We stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people who are fighting for humanity and regional security.”
In turn, the Ukrainian diplomat congratulated Alexandru Munteanu on his appointment as head of government and wished him success in achieving his stated priorities—especially the major goal of European integration, which is shared by both countries.
“The parliamentary elections confirmed the will of Moldovan citizens to join the European Union, and you have shown resilience in the face of Russian provocations,” said Ukraine’s ambassador in Chișinău.
