The average age of deputies in the 12th legislature of Parliament is 48, according to TRIBUNA.
In the new legislature:
- 12 deputies are aged 35 or younger
- 49 deputies are between 36 and 50
- 31 deputies are between 51 and 62
The youngest members of Parliament, both aged 26, are Anastasia Nichita and Eugeniu Sinchevici, elected on the list of the political party “Party of Action and Solidarity.” Notably, this party’s parliamentary faction includes the highest number of young deputies—9 in total.
Two other deputies under 35, Diana Caraman and Olga Cebotari, were elected on the list of the Electoral Bloc “Patriotic of the Socialists, Communists, Heart and Future of Moldova.” One young deputy, Alexandru Chițu, was elected on the list of the political party “Democracy at Home.”
Additionally, 9 deputies are over the age of 63. The senior member of the current legislature is Vladimir Voronin, aged 84, elected on the list of the Electoral Bloc “Patriotic of the Socialists, Communists, Heart and Future of Moldova.”
According to the Electoral Code, any eligible voter who has reached the age of 18—including on election day—may run for Parliament.
