The technical assistance project titled “Enhancing Crisis Management and Cyber Resilience of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova” has been officially signed. The initiative is funded by the Nordic-Baltic countries (NB-8): Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, and Sweden. The total value of the project is USD 3.1 million, TRIBUNA reports.
The document was signed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi and UNDP Resident Representative in Moldova Daniela Gasparikova.
The project aims to support the strengthening of institutional capacity to ensure continuity of diplomatic operations during international crises, in line with international standards. It focuses on modernizing diplomatic procedures and infrastructure, as well as reinforcing the Ministry’s cyber security.
“This support from our Nordic and Baltic partners is a strategic investment in the safety and efficiency of diplomatic activity. It will enhance the Ministry’s ability to manage international crisis situations, with a focus on protecting Moldovan citizens abroad,” stated Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi.
The project will be implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), which will serve as the implementation partner, ensuring coordination of activities and efficient resource management in accordance with international standards.
