Cricova Winery — Moldova’s ambassador in over 40 countries — was awarded the “Grand Prize” at the 24th edition of National Wine Day, held on October 4–5, 2025. Over 100 wineries and wine producers participated in this landmark event. The “Grand Prize” is more than a distinction — it’s a testament to excellence, dedication, and the values cultivated by this emblematic Moldovan winery.
What Defines Cricova
Cricova’s success is rooted in strong values: respect for tradition, innovation, sustainability, and quality. More than a winery, Cricova is an institution that upholds the strictest international standards — ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO 17025, and European certification for organic wine production. These standards ensure transparency, responsibility, and trust.
Leadership and Team
Behind every achievement stands a united team and visionary leadership. In 2024, the company closed the year with record profits.General Director Sorin Maslo affirms: “This award confirms we’re on the right path — the path of quality, innovation, and respect for tradition.”
Investing in the Future
Cricova’s ongoing projects reflect its strategic commitment. The expansion of vineyards in Stăuceni, covering 672 hectares, marks a new era of sustainable agriculture. Over 90% of processes will be mechanized, treatments will be fully ecological, and drones will ensure precision and efficiency.
Sustainability as a Strategic Priority
Cricova is proving that excellence can go hand in hand with environmental responsibility. The adoption of the European “Fair and Green” system, expansion of its solar park (already covering 20% of energy needs), and launch of the BIO “WILD” wine series confirm its sustainable direction.
Recognition and Performance
2024 was one of the most productive years in Cricova’s history: over 22 medals at eight prestigious international competitions and more than 10.5 million bottles produced and sold. The EU remains the main export market, with growing presence in Western and non-European markets.
National Symbol and Tourist Gem
Cricova’s underground cellars — over 120 km — attract tens of thousands of tourists annually. For many, Cricova is their first encounter with Moldova — a place where tradition, culture, and hospitality blend into a memorable experience.
Vision and Objectives
For 2025–2027, Cricova aims to expand vineyards, diversify export markets, modernize technology, and increase presence at prestigious international events. Its own festivals, like “Must Fest” and “Sparkling Party,” bring wine closer to consumers.
The “Grand Prize” confirms Cricova’s central role in Moldova’s winemaking landscape and its status as a global ambassador. It’s a brand that doesn’t just produce wine — it cultivates national identity and writes a new chapter in Moldova’s wine history.
