Prosecutors have informed Vladimir Plahotniuc of the charges in the criminal cases in which he is targeted

Following the extradition of Vladimir Plahotniuc to the Republic of Moldova, prosecutors have formally informed him of the charges in the criminal cases in which he is involved, TRIBUNA reports.

As a result of the examination of extradition requests submitted by the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Moldova on July 24 and August 8, 2025, and based on the decisions of the competent authorities of the Hellenic Republic to approve them, Vladimir Plahotniuc was handed over today to Moldovan law enforcement.

Prosecutors from the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office presented him with charges in four criminal cases currently under investigation. Additionally, in a case already before the court, prosecutors handed him the indictment in accordance with legal procedure.

“We remind the public that the accused was subject to international search and is charged with multiple offenses, including the creation and leadership of a criminal organization, large-scale fraud, and large-scale money laundering. He was detained on July 22.

The Prosecutor’s Office will continue to inform the public about the progress of the criminal proceedings in the mentioned cases,” stated the General Prosecutor’s Office.
