Igor Munteanu, the leader of the Coalition for Unity and Welfare (CUB), with reference to the new scandal in the judiciary with the involvement of Tatiana Răducanu, found that it is “a much more serious problem even than Hebel’s scandal and refers to some circumstances, which compromise irremediably the credibility of this Commission”, informs TRIBUNA.

“If the details communicated by the Prosecutor are true, then the revelations have the effect of a volcano that consumes and destroys everything that the members of this Commission have managed to do in the last 2 years,” the politician said.

Igor Munteanu said that, in these dramatic circumstances, he believes that:

“1) both authorities, CSM and CSP, are completely compromised, and all candidates, who passed or did not pass the “filters” of the Evaluation Commission, are to be re-evaluated by a new panel of evaluators, constituted on the basis of a totally new mechanism.

2) if this “bomb” of the prosecutor’s office was the reason why 16 judges from the Court of Appeal refused to be evaluated by the current composition of the Pre-vetting Commission, then the situation is even worse because it becomes even more obvious the leakage of information and the degradation of the evaluation process of judges and prosecutors in a trivial battle between competing groups,

3) the facts communicated by the Anti-corruption Prosecutor against Tatiane Răducanu are so serious that the criminal investigation bodies will urgently carry out the operative measures necessary so that the targeted person cannot leave the Republic of Moldova, and the file opened on this case is solved in the shorter time. Finally,

4) I strongly recommend all members of this Pre-vetting Commission to return the money received from international donors in recent years because their work, the product of their work, is fully compromised”.

“We are going to get out of this scandal with another model of judicial reforms, eliminating everything that has been consumed and can no longer serve as a standard of integrity in this process”, concluded the CUB leader.
