Andrei Năstase, former Minister of Internal Affairs, former president of the DA Platform, stated that he would not have actively returned to the political arena if things in the country had gone well. In this context, he said that he decided to run independently for the position of head of state, “but not independently of the people”, informs TRIBUNA.
“I have set up, by Florii, an initiative group, the purpose of which is to collect the necessary signatures for registration in the race… Now it is a support group, when the need arises it will be an initiative group”, he mentioned during the show “Zoomed” from Realitatea Live.
At the same time, he said that the recent meeting with the citizens was attended by people who were with him before, but also new people. “I am a privileged person of fate, if I may say so,” he stated.
Andrei Năstase also answered the question why he would not have appealed to the “Together” Bloc – of which the DA Platform is also a part – to be the Bloc’s candidate.
“My belief is, as a result of the experiences I have lived, that we need a president of all,” he noted, specifying that he will have discussions with several personalities and forces, including the Bloc.
