The Central Electoral Council of Gagauzia registered Koksal Ivanna, Anastasov Serghei, and Garizan Oleg as candidates for the position of Governor (Bashkan) of Gagauzia yesterday, thereby concluding the registration process for the election, TRIBUNA reports.

A total of eight candidates will appear on the ballot for the election of the Governor (Bashkan) of Gagauzia. The other five candidates are Fiodor Gagauz, representing the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova; Alexandr Stoianoglo, an independent candidate; Cornel Dudnic, an independent candidate; Ivan Cîlcic, representing the Gagauz People’s Party; and Petr Vlah, representing the New Historical Choice Party.

By 14 October 2026, the Central Electoral Council of Gagauzia is expected to approve the design and wording of the ballot paper, the order in which electoral contestants will appear on it, and, where applicable, the symbols of independent candidates.

The elections for the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia and the position of Governor (Bashkan) of Gagauzia are scheduled for 15 November 2026.
