The process of receiving documents and registering candidates for the position of deputy in the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia continues in the three electoral constituencies: Comrat, Ceadîr-Lunga, and Vulcănești. As of October 4, 2026, a total of 122 applications for registration as candidates for the position of deputy in the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia had been submitted across the three electoral constituencies. Of these, 90 applications were submitted by independent candidates, while 32 candidates were nominated by political parties, TRIBUNA reports.
In the Comrat electoral constituency, 62 applications have been submitted. To date, 11 electoral candidates have been registered, while another 51 applications are under review.
In the Ceadîr-Lunga electoral constituency, 40 applications have been submitted by individuals seeking to run for the position of deputy. Of these, 10 electoral candidates have been registered, while 30 applications are currently under review.
In the Vulcănești electoral constituency, the constituency electoral council has received 20 applications. As of this date, 5 electoral candidates have been registered, while another 15 applications are under review.
It is recalled that the period for submitting documents for the registration of candidates for the position of deputy in the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia ends on October 6, 2026, inclusive.
After the submission period ends, the constituency electoral councils will continue to examine the submitted applications and will adopt the relevant decisions within the deadlines provided by electoral legislation.
The electoral campaign for the elections of deputies to the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia will begin on October 16, 2026.
The elections for the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia will take place on November 15, 2026.
