Thanks to the efforts of the Government of the Republic of Moldova in recent years and as a result of a prodigious and effective collaboration of the National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) with the General Directorate for Animal Safety and Health of the European Commission (DG SANTE), poultry meat producers (refrigerated and frozen) from the Republic of Moldova will be able to export their product to the largest market in the world, informs TRIBUNA.
According to a press release from ANSA, during the last two years, the Agency has successfully promoted several audit missions from the European Commission. Within them, the national system of sanitary-veterinary control at the central and territorial level, the professionalism of the body of official inspectors, the management capabilities of bird flu outbreaks in the country, the testing capabilities of the laboratory system, but also the degree of implementation of the requirements and standards of the European Union (EU) by economic agents that intend to export to the community market. All this, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, which ensured the harmonization of the national legal framework with EU legislation.
“The European Single Market is a great opportunity for Moldovan producers, as it forces them to align themselves with the EU’s rigorous standards and work harder to increase the competitiveness of their production. As a result, consumers from our country, but also European consumers, will taste a harmless and high-quality Moldovan product” – the press release added.
