Moldovan national energy regulatory agency approves guide of consumer

The Administrative Board of the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) adopted the consumer’s guide at a public meeting today.    

The goal of the Guide is to inform consumers about the rights, obligations, quality parameters, contracting, invoice, ways and procedures of settling disagreements or litigations emerged and is meant for about 2.5 million of consumers of electric energy, natural gas, thermal energy and the public service of supply with water and sewerage.

„The consumer’s guide represents a full source of information for the consumers who need consultations, in order to be informed and avoid unwished situations in the relations with the providers of services regulated by the Agency,” ANRE director general, Veaceslav Untila has said.

The petitions annually received by ANRE were at the basis of the guide’s working out. In the petitions, consumers were asking for explanations and consultations on the problems emerging at the contracting, infringement of contractual clauses, applicable tariffs and prices, connection, measurement equipment, quality of the serviced provided, etc.

The guide comprises also explanations on the enforcement of normative and regulatory acts, provides recommendations on the protection of consumers’ rights, as well as answers to the most frequent questions put to the National Energy Regulatory Agency.
